On Monday Lilith went to the Vet for the first time since her amputation and got her stitches removed. She did amazing. She was calm and let the doc do his job. He said she was healing well and with her wonderful tenasity and ability to move on her own, well before expected (9 days earlier) she was released back to normal activity.
They weighed her and she went from 130lbs to 128lbs. He said she was in her normal weight range but with the amputation, he would like to see her on the low end of her weight range so he would like to see her weight down by 5-10 lbs… This will help her joints over the long run. She is find with her reduced calorie food, and I see no issues in her loosing the weight.
We also received an amazing gift from another on this board. Laura, a former mom to a Tripawd, sent us an unused harness for our Lilly, a card and additional gift. I was emotional while reading her card, and completely greatful that someone can have a heart that big. This community and its support is simply amazing. It’s nice to know there are people to support you during this hard time. People that have been in your place and know the struggles.

I really love your vet’s advice about dropping some pounds: yep, less weight the better. It’s a little tough at first but it’s better in the long run.
